Watch says “Set up on your iPhone”

The watch has no sign-in of its own. It copies the connection from your iPhone, and until it does it shows Set up on your iPhone.

Make sure the iPhone app is connected.

Open Video Watch Live on your iPhone. If you see the Welcome screen, tap Connect Ring Account first. See Set up Video Watch Live.

Keep the iPhone app open, then open the watch app.

The sign-in passes to the watch when both apps are running and the watch is near the phone with Bluetooth on. Give it a few seconds.

Still waiting? Restart the watch app.

Press the side button, swipe the app away, and open it again with the iPhone app still open. If that doesn’t do it, restart the watch.
Only needed once. After the first sign-in the watch keeps its connection, and it works away from your iPhone over Wi-Fi or cellular. If you choose Disconnect Account… on the iPhone, the watch signs out too, the next time it syncs.
